Professor Shahid graduated from the Department of Economics at Aligarh Muslim University. In addition, he acquired traditional education in Shariah [Dars-e-Nizami] from a reputed seminary in north India. His areas of specialisation include Islamic jurisprudence, Quranic Exegesis, Islamic History, Shariah Law, Hadith, Arabic Language, Islamic History and Philosophy. Prof Shahid has a rich background in the stock market and shariah screening, backed by several certifications from NSFM. Moreover, he is an accomplished writer, having authored numerous articles and a book on the stock market for Urdu-speaking individuals. He joined the Centre for Advanced Studies in Economics at Pune University to delve deeper into community finance research. Further augmenting his Banking and Islamic Finance expertise, he pursued advanced studies at Loughborough University, UK.
